Update: June 27, 2011: Jury Convicts Rod Blagojevich on 17 of 20 Counts.

(Note: Rod Blagojevich was impeached by the Illinois House of Representatives on January 9, 2009, and was subsequently removed from office on January 29, 2009, by a unanimous 59–0 vote in the Illinois State Senate. Governor Blagojevich’s removal from office occurred one month to the day after the seven photos in this series were taken of his Springfield office.)

A small bust of Abraham Lincoln sits on Governor Rod Blagojevich’s desk in his Statehouse office. But the real symbolic presence in his office is "The King," seen rocking and rolling to the left.

You are invited to stay and browse through my stream. Here’s a quick index to my little corner of Flickr:

Automobile Photographs
: This is a very large collection of images whose primary, but not exclusive, focus is on American automotive classics. Images are organized by decade, by manufacturer, and by topics (such as convertibles, station wagons, muscle cars, etc.)

Central Illinois (except Springfield)
: Central Illinois (except Springfield): Photos relating to the middle section of the "Land of Lincoln" (except for the Capital City of Springfield) may be found in this collection. Every city and town I’ve photographed is contained within its own set, and rural (as in "countryside") photographs are grouped by county.

Springfield, Illinois
: All of my photographs of Springfield and the Abraham Lincoln Sites are in this collection. For the City of Springfield, there are separate sets for the Capitol Complex, Downtown (including the Old State Capitol), Neighborhoods, Parks, Illinois State Fairgrounds and more. Photographs of Lincoln sites include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Lincoln Tomb, and so on. Also in the Lincoln "All About Abe" (Set) are a few Lincoln sites not located in Springfield.

The Illinois State Fair
: My collection of photographs of the Illinois State Fair. The fair offers something for everyone. Grab a corn dog and lemon shake-up, and come take a look!

Beyond Central Illinois
: Other locales in the United States and Canada including New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle.

In addition to my location-based sets, here are links to some "topical" collections and sets I’ve put together:

Barbers & Barber Shops
: Traditional barbers and barber shops are on the endangered species list. But there are still plenty to be found if you go looking for them.

Almost Everything Else. Check It Out!!!
: Included topics range from man’s first walk on the moon to small town schools and churches, and from Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers (our favorite breed) to things that are abandoned, neglected, weathered, or rusty.

When it comes to increasing muscle, there is certainly no lack of information. If you are working on building muscles in your body, you need to understand what exactly your body needs. This article is packed with useful information that will make it easier to plan a muscle-boosting regimen.

When trying to increase muscle mass, snack on protein-rich foods prior to working out, and again after you finish. So, do things like take in around 15 grams 30 minutes before you train, then take in another 15 when you’re done. You can get this quickly and easily by drinking a tall glass of milk.

When trying to gain muscle, eat healthy fats. Healthy fats help to lubricate joints, and they can also raise the level of testosterone in the body. This can increase the speed with which you gain muscle. Do not consume saturated fats, since they aren’t good for your heart.

You do not need to build yourself up into a mountain of muscle to realize the significant benefits of better muscular development. It can elevate your self-esteem and confidence, improve your joints, add more strength and when associated with a simple cardio workout, it can improve your lung function.

Set limits, but don’t end a workout until you’ve used every resource. With every set that you do, try to push your body until you can not lift even one more pound. Using this strategy might mean you need to do fewer reps as you become fatigued.

Don’t work out for more than sixty minutes. When exceeding 60 minutes, your body will begin to increase its amount of cortisol, which is a stress hormone. Cortisol blocks testosterone, which can ruin your muscle gaining efforts. Making sure that workouts are less than an hour helps you to get the best results.

Think about getting a gym membership if you are just starting out with weight training. A gym can offer various equipment, giving you the most from your workout. They also have professionals that can help with your body building. They will always be there in case you have a question.

A lot of individuals make the error of boosting their protein intake at the same time they start working out. This can cause excess calories to accumulate. If those calories aren’t burned while working out, fat gain may result. Increase your protein intake slowly, adding a couple hundred calories at a time every few days. Your body will be able to keep up with the increase this way, using the extra protein to grow muscle.

Try to take some pictures of your body every few days. Since you use a mirror frequently, it will often be difficult to see true progression. This will enable you to compare your photos over time and see your muscle growth, as well as identify any areas that need more work.

Track your body fat composition. You shouldn’t just simply track your weight because you could be dropping fat and increasing muscle. It is easy to feel discouraged when you look at your weight, but know that it isn’t really a good gauge of where you are with your muscles, especially not at first.

Always eat right before and right after a workout. If you are new to muscle building, a high protein snack is ideal. As you become more advanced in your routine, you can start to measure the number of carbs and grams of protein in your pre- and post-workout meals to help you build muscle even faster.

As you have read, you need to be aware of what your body will need if you want to see a transformation take place. The time you take to learn about proper bodybuilding techniques will not be wasted effort. The tips given to you in the above article will get you going correctly so that you can achieve your goals.
